Our story, our values
The founder’s preface
As a passionate educator, for over 20 years, I have dedicated myself wholeheartedly to supporting families and empowering children and young people. My mission is to ensure that all children have equal opportunities — regardless of their background, socioeconomic status, or life circumstances.
Every child deserves respect, support, and a safe space to learn and grow.
The story
After spending many years working in different school systems around the world, I made the decision to return to my second home, Senegal, to establish an international school on the Petite Côte in Ngaparou.
My goal is to develop an educational infrastructure for children and young people and to found the first German international school in Senegal.
The first step in this journey is the creation of a Family and Sports Center, where we offer extracurricular activities, various sports, coaching sessions, family days, and a youth club.
The second phase will be the opening of our multilingual preschool on March 3, 2025.
It has always been my dream to build a school that follows a culturally sensitive and diversity-conscious approach — from early childhood education all the way through to graduation.
To support this vision, I developed the Baobab Pedagogy, which focuses on inclusion and empowerment.
This means our mission is to recognize and nurture the strengths and abilities of each child, rather than pointing out their shortcomings or making them feel invisible or less than others.

Philosophy
& Mission
We live in a world full of hatred, discrimination and destruction. Social media is causing more peer pressure amongst our youth that oftentimes leads to self-doubt or even depression.
Children spend most of their day in school and it is my determination to create a stress-free environment where children can be children and youth can grow up with self-love, respect and empathy.

Our values
Bousso’s Baobab is a place of peace, hope, joy, tolerance, uplifting each other and togetherness where people who have more will happily support those who have less.
It’s a social concept that my team and I live by and that I am hoping to establish with my school and family center.
I am working in cooperation with Muriel Plag who is the international coordinator at schulexpert gGmbH in Wetzlar, Germany.
Please take a look at their website to see their offer and the amazing work that they are doing, by clicking here.
I have also established a partnership with Aliou Cissokho, the Education Inspector of Mbour. He advises me and contributes his expertise on the Senegalese school system.
Mr. Cissokho is also socially engaged and serves as the Secretary General of a non-profit organization that supports children from Malicounda.
We are working hand in hand to achieve our shared goal: to make it possible for children from Malicounda to attend our school.
