Bilingual program
Apply nowWhy choose a bilingual program?
A second language enables a better understanding of complex issues and promotes creativity and self-confidence. Bilingualism also opens up awareness of other cultures. It therefore does not matter whether a child comes from a multilingual family in order to learn a foreign language.
Early childhood facilities provide the best conditions, as children are introduced to the new language in a playful way and learn it naturally.
The bilingual offer
The speakers
We implement the concept of “One person = one language”, meaning that an educator who speaks one language never changes it. This enables children to learn intuitively, just as they learn their mother tongue. We employ native or fully bilingual speakers in their assigned language.
The context
Learning takes place in context, which means it’s supported by actions (I verbalize what I’m doing and seeing) throughout the day. There are no “language lessons” at a certain time or on a certain day, just constant immersion. A real language bath!
The thinking
Language learning stimulates divergent thinking, a kind of thinking that generates multiple solutions to a problem. By learning a new language, children are confronted with different grammatical structures and vocabularies, leading them to think more flexibly and inventively.
The culture
Learning a language also means opening up to a new culture and being able to adapt in different situations, with different people. Multiculturalism is an important part of the modern world, and we need to prepare our children for it.
Two different curricula
3 languages are practiced at Bousso’s Baobab (French, English and German), but the programs offered are bilingual, not trilingual.
2 distinct curricula are possible: either French/English or French/German.
You don’t need to be familiar with either of the two languages in order to enroll.
